Downtown Loveland's newest brewery hasn't poured a single pint yet — and people are already paying attention.

The Dug & Firkin, a British-style brewpub, has spent months renovating the storefront at 243 East 4th Street, a space that's cycled through a design shop and a general store since 2013. When it opens, expect British ales alongside other craft beers, wine, and specialty cocktails, plus a menu built around British pub food.

It's a small addition on paper, but it says something about downtown: even as breweries have opened and closed across Loveland over the years, someone's still betting on a storefront in the historic core. Once the doors open, it'll bring Loveland's brewery count to an even ten.

Loveland just landed one of the biggest honors in the state's 150th birthday celebration: it'll be the permanent home of the Great Colorado Time Capsule.

According to the Fort Collins Coloradoan, the statewide project is collecting letters, photos, artwork, and keepsakes from Coloradans that capture everyday life in 2026. Everything gets sealed inside a repurposed water pipe and buried this fall at The Ranch Events Complex — not to be reopened until 2076, when Colorado turns 200 and the U.S. turns 300.

Residents can mail items to the Loveland Visitor Center, submit online through Visit Loveland, or drop items off in person at the Larimer County Fair from July 31 through August 4.

Fifty years from now, someone's going to open that capsule and see what Loveland was doing in July 2026. Might as well be part of it.
